I once asked my spiritual mentor and friend how to meditate. She said, 'That's where you go when you are doing art."

I am fortunate that I love so many things and that I can incorporate them into my art. Mirrors for introspection, feathers for transformation. I like moons, of course, and suns. Stars and constellations open me to the greater universe in which I am so small a part. I like to play with things old or rusty.

One of my favorite thing to do when I'm blocked is to dig in Ernie's scrap wood box. "Look, Ern, a crown. Or how could you throw this away? It's a goddess!"

Visitors to my studio give me a new perspective on my work and a positive energy that invites me to invent and change and grow.
