My art and my life come more and more from internal musings and wanderings. Today I allow feelings through meditation, observation, prayer, contemplation and study of the past. From this comes my art. Unbeckoned and yet so very welcome. I enjoy using parts and pieces of the past in collage and asemblage. I often layer bits of shiney material to beckon from across a room and say come look closer to me. |
My furniture is inspired by the big woods of the Atchafalaya, the 1000 year old cypress trees whose remnants hide under a layer of silt. Recovering and building with these logs is a dedication to bringing the last of the big trees to fruition as objects that humans enjoy and use. My work has appeared in Louisiana Homes and Gardens magazine and is on display at the Louisiana Crafts Guild, Lafayette Art Association, the Schexnayder Gallery, and other select locations. Furniture pieces have found homes in Louisiana, Houston, Kansas City, and Colorado. |
